Hello, my name is Dr. Echeverri. I'm an anesthesiologist.
Why is a pre-surgery visit needed?
A pre-surgery visit reviews your health before surgery and anesthesia. A nurse or anesthesia provider often asks about your medical conditions, medicines, allergies and any past anesthesia.
Some people have tests, such as blood work or a heart rhythm test called an EKG. Your heart, lungs, mouth and neck may also be checked to plan breathing support during surgery. Finding issues early lowers the chance of a delay or cancellation on surgery day.
Call the office if you have questions about your visit or your care. This is general information, not personal instructions. Your surgical team can tell you what applies to you.
Thanks for watching.
